Cal Poly Maritime Academy

Founded nearly a century ago, Cal Poly Maritime Academy sits on the northern edge of the San Francisco Bay and is now part of California Polytechnic State University – a top-ranked university among all public and private institutions in the West. It's the only degree-granting maritime academy on the West Coast, offering hands-on work aboard our new training ship GOLDEN STATE, commercial maritime industry experiences, and state-of-the-art instruction in our Simulation Center. Backed by dedicated faculty, staff, alumni and industry and education partners, we also offer specialized qualifications such as Dynamic Positioning Certification. Our programs in engineering, marine transportation, oceanography, international security, business and logistics are built around real-world industry demands, producing graduates who lead across the global maritime industry and beyond.
